School has started back up and kids are back in the classroom. To celebrate and give some enlightenment to the community, The Rustic Barn at Half Moon is putting together a food truck rodeo from 5 – 9pm this Friday, August 21.
Bring your lawn chairs & picnic blankets to lay out on the lawn, as our seating will be limited. We will have a variety of food trucks so make sure to bring your appetite! We’re not done yet! Local favorites, peace and war, will be performing live on the patio and the Rustic Barn will be selling hats and beverages.
Cash or card are accepted.
This is a family friendly event and all ages are welcomed. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No pets please.

Hi all! We know these are uncertain times, so to help here are guidelines of how to attend a wedding expo in the midst of Covid-19.
We have our wedding expo coming up on Sunday, July 19, 2020. With being under phase 2 in the state of North Carolina we are social distancing and implementing covid-19 safety procedures. As a place of business we’ve even completed the Count On Me NC back when it was launched. On top of what we’re covering on our end, here are some tips and tricks as an attendee:
1. Wear a mask (make it trendy)
Mask are now mandated and we expect attendees to wear them. We have seen so many creative masks out there for brides and grooms! Think of these as the modern day “bride-to-be” sash. Etsy is one of our top places to shop for masks. This also helps those who may have been put out of a job during these times. One super awesome idea we’ve seen is where a bride used bits of her mother and grandmother’s dress and created a mask to wear on her big day!
2. Bring address labels
Many vendors may have sign-up sheets or collect your information to send you packaging, pricing, or follow up with a booking. Address labels are a great tip regardless. Makes visiting each vendor so much easier because you won’t have to worry about any typos and spend more time conversating than writing. Labels help avoid touching surfaces or pens others may have touch.
3. Pens & paper
If address labels are not feasible, bring your own pen. Make it pink, purple, or glittery to really make yourself stand out to vendors. Bring your own notebook or wedding planning binder to collect information. This also gives you a professional flair and one-up on your planning game.
4. Sanitation is key
Bring some good smelling sanitizer to keep yourself and the wedding party clean and happy! We will have sanitation stations located all around the grounds and inside the barn. Bathrooms will be stocked with high quality foaming hand soaps.
5. 6ft of separation
Keeping the distance between you and others will help with the prevention of transferring germs. The layout of the expo will be staged so vendors and walkways are 6ft apart from each other. Majority of our vendors will be staged outside at faux ceremony locations to prevent any gathering inside where the food is located. We have also placed “X’s” 6ft from each other, where lines could potentially form.
Tickets are $10 now and will be $15 at the door. We accept cash or card. Can’t wait to see you at the barn!

The Rustic Barn Staff is pleased to announce their inaugural wedding expo taking place on Sunday, July 19 from Noon – 4:00pm!

This wedding expo is not your traditional pipe, drape, and booth expo. We want to make the event interactive and hit on a personal level. As wedding industry vendors we want your big day to be just as amazing as you do! We get it, we understand things can get stressful but that’s why we’re here to help. We’re humans too and feel everything that you feel.
Weather permitting, several ceremony locations will be set up around the grounds. At each location several vendors (excluding food vendors) will be placed together as if it was an actual wedding ceremony. Attendees will then be able to walk through each ceremony location, getting an accurate feel of what everyone has to offer. At each location the vendors will be staged to chat and answer any questions you may have. They will also have a table with their information and services.
Food vendors will be set up inside the building/patio to protect the food from the elements. The rest of the grand hall will be staged as a reception. Raffles will take place throughout the day and swag bags will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis.
If you are a bride or groom who has already booked with us, you have free entry to the event (two tickets total) and any other guest will need to pay the ticket fee. Pre-purchased tickets are $10/person + fees. Day of tickets will be $15/person + fees and at the door only. If the event is needing to be postpone, tickets will then be honored for the event’s new selected date. Tickets are nonrefundable.

With our grand opening taking place Monday, January 13, 2020, we figured we would put everything you needed to know about the opening in one place. So, here it is:
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Join us for the Grand Opening of Jacksonville’s newest & finest event venue. Tickets are no longer needed! Yes, tickets were once required but the requirement has now been nixed. Doors open at 7:00pm and the event concludes at 11:00pm. Dress attire is Carolina casual.
Heavy Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Mission BBQ of Jacksonville. Our bar will be up and running, so be sure to bring cash (small bills preferred) or cards. The bartenders will gladly mix up one of our signature cocktails you. Also available to purchase is a various selection of wine and beer.
The grand opening is a time for people to see the venue, ask questions and mingle, as well as take pictures so show off to their friends. Merchandise will also be available to purchase. There are no atms onsite, so please bring cash or card if you are planning to make a purchase from the merch table or bar.
